In 2019 an important opportunity came along for Art Processors when Bendigo Art Gallery invited our (then) small creative technology company to be part of a unique collaboration for an exhibition by an emerging Gunditjmara/Yorta Yorta artist.

That’s how we found ourselves working side-by-side with animator Isobel Knowles, and the artist behind the exhibition, Josh Muir.

We were all greatly saddened to hear the news of Josh’s sudden passing.

Josh was an incredible and powerful artist and we relished the chance to share and learn from his creative practice and storytelling. He was courageously open about his journey with mental illness and his desire to be part of the evolution of Aboriginal Art—wanting to challenge so many stereotypes and stigmas.

Our thoughts and support go out to his family and community, and to all who have encountered and been moved by his work. We know he has left a lasting legacy in his bright and powerful work and we’re sure he will continue to be a source of inspiration to so many people—we know we will never forget the lessons and inspiration we were gifted by the young artist from Ballarat.
