Art Processors develops a new app enhancing the new museum's visitor experience

A visionary app providing visitors to the new WA Museum Boola Bardip with a unique and highly immersive view of some of that State’s most significant cultural artefacts has gone live.

Art Processors, the global leader in visitor experience technology and innovation, developed Gogo (named after the ancient fish that is WA’s State fossil emblem) for museum-goers to heighten their on-site experience and share new insights into the State’s unique cultural and scientific collections.

Gogo features two options for the user: Let Us Guide You is a curated adventure through the Museum, while Go Your Own Way allows the visitor to choose their own adventure.

Filled with recorded stories and soundscapes, visuals and audio, Gogo draws on the visitor's emotions and senses as they navigate their way through the collections, directed by specially placed Bluetooth beacons around the Museum. The experience is supported by digital labels, opening a multi-layered virtual world and prompting the visitor’s curiosity to explore further.

Tony Holzner, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer at Art Processors, said the original new mobile experience is designed to seamlessly complement the Museum's incredible collection with rich cinematic soundscapes and authentic storytelling featuring fascinating WA people and showcasing incredible places from around the State.

"Once the headphones are on it's like stepping inside a film where the exhibits become a stage for the story to unfold as you wander around the amazing new Museum," said Tony.

"Our technology allows us to layer beautiful, emotive sound with first-person narratives based on your location in the gallery, to create a curious new world where you can lose yourself in another time and place and just enjoy the moment.

"Through our close collaboration with the Western Australian Museum our content team were able to dive deep into its collections and unearth its most inspiring and intriguing stories.

"We've designed the new experience around an innovative platform that will allow the Western Australian Museum to add new content over time to ensure it's always fresh, exciting and relevant to keep visitors coming back for more. It's been a real privilege to be involved in this project and we hope it will become a major drawcard for the WA Museum Boola Bardip and Australia more broadly."

The WA Museum Boola Bardip is located in the Perth Cultural Centre, in the heart of the city. Designed by internationally renowned architects Hassell + OMA and built by managing contractor Multiplex.

The Gogo app (Gogo – WA Museum Boola Bardip) is available in app stores for free download.
